Example of accruing Long Service Leave in PayTek

Our example assumes that the employee accruies 8.6667 weeks every 10 years. This equates to 0.8666 weeks per year.

A work week is 38 hours.

To work out the pro-rata accrual we divide 0.8666 by 52, which equals 1.666% of hours worked.

Because you accrue leave when on leave, make sure you include the leave pay items in your pay item group used to calculate the entitlement.

A full time employee can accrue a weeks LSL each week being 0.8666 * 38 / 52 = 0.6662 hours.
